Frequently Asked Questions
Why try Cupping?
Cupping is a complementary therapy that gently targets your fascia, boosts blood flow and promotes deep relaxation. Releasing the fascia is a really great way to help ‘sticky’ areas to feel more fluid and have a greater range of motion again. Honestly, it feels pretty great and can greatly enhance the results of your massage too!
Why try Gua Sha?
Gua sha is a tool we see used a lot for beauty but it is actually a great addition to any bodywork session too! Boosting blood flow, reducing muscle tension, stimulating the bodies ability to heal are a few of the effects you can expect when you opt for this complimentary add-on to any body focused healing session.
How can I find you?
Prismatx is very conveniently located in an adorable bungalow on West 6th street and Campbell street. Stop by the new(ish) central library, enjoy a dip at the nearby Deep Eddy or get some tacos at El Arroyo while you’re over here!
What’s the parking situation?
Did we mention that Prismatx is conveniently next to a bunch of very fun things to do on West 6th street and you can park for FREE during your massage?! Our parking lot is accessible from Campbell street so you will be able to park easily whether you’re coming from downtown or Mopac.
View from 6th street.
View from parking lot, just come on up the outside stairwell and Prismatx is on the third floor.
Self-care after massage?
First and foremost, be kind to yourself. Listen to your body and let things settle and adapt to the therapeutic work you just received for the first day or two. It’s a great time for slow walks and stretching, drinking copious amounts of water, and taking an epsom salt bath or nap before you jump back into strenuous workouts and hectic schedules. You’ll also want to think about scheduling your next monthly maintenance massage or rebook a little sooner if you still have more tension to work out. Please email Julia at this time if you have further questions about reaching your wellness goals.
Do you take HSA/FSA?
Absolutely, just be sure to check in with your healthcare provider first to determine whether they have any requirements for your session when receiving your massage.
What if I can’t make it?
Life happens, please let me know as soon as you can so we can make the proper arrangements. That being said, we have a cancellation policy for last-minute cancellations without cause. Unjustified absences will be met with a 50% cancellation fee :(
sick protocols
Just stay home if you are sick! This is an excused cancellation and there will be no cancellation fee for rescheduling when you are sick. Send a text or email and let your body heal. While regular massage is overall helpful for your immune system, it can be too taxing on your body to receive while you are sick and, of course, can spread to other clients who would like to remain healthy!
